The solitude of women’s minds is regrettable… it’s a waste to be separated from each other, without procedures, without traditions.
~ Elena Ferrante, Those Who Leave and Those Who Stay
Career changes, divorce, an empty nest, a re-location – these are just some of the transitions that challenge us in life and involve a shift in identity. Sometimes it can feel like we are on a teetering bridge between two worlds, the old familiar one that doesn’t fit us very well anymore, and the mysterious unknown on the far side.
What does it take to make this journey? Courage to experiment, take risks, and be vulnerable. Openness to fresh ideas and even surprises. Willingness to let go of what no longer fits us or serves us.
Women have so much in common, no matter how different our lives appear on the surface. It can be reassuring and empowering to be in a group of others who are also struggling to adjust to various changes and transitions, some welcomed, some forced upon us. There is enormous benefit to be gained from the insights, strengths, and encouragement of a group.
The Transition Oasis Program is a small group of women who commit to a facilitated meeting once a month for 2 hours over 6 months to share their experiences and challenges and to support one another. Each participant also receives a monthly 90 minute coaching session with Martha, either by phone, Zoom or in person. The cost is $995 for the 6 month program.
